We are all customers like you here - we can't tell you whether something is or is not happening with your number or account.

What i can offer is helpful reading material:

Very good explanation! They definitely will log the number as an active number and then they will start dropping the call bomber to the number with the bots lol.

NEVER answer any calls from numbers/people you either don't recognize or are not on your contact list.  It can be difficult to ignore a call, but you will get used to it.

If the person calling you needs you that badly, they will leave a voice message; if they don't bother leaving one, you likely didn't need to hear from them in the first place.

IF YOU DO ANSWER, and the caller is a spammer, it's likely your number will get logged as one which will get answered, so anticipate spam calling to increase (at least in the short term).  Additionally, companies sell information to others for numbers which result in answered calls, so also bear that in mind.

In your case, it appears the callers were the victims of Spoofing.   Indeed, THEY, shouldn't have answered the call which appeared to be calling from your number.

The thing is, there's still a lot of people who feel they MUST answer a ringing phone - whereas the rest of us only answer expected calls or folks on our contact lists.

To each their own, I suppose.   🙂

@Zohaib

this is Caller ID spoofing.

Scammer use system to fake the caller id to fool people to think a real person is calling and not those annoying sale calls. The one receive that call see your number and not aware of caller id spoofing and hence call you back and ask
