Sending text messages

For the last couple of weeks (off and on) people have been receiving my text messages 1-2 days later. This happens mainly with MMS and is a mixture of android and iPhone

Anyone else experiencing this?

@Dolphin12   Are you sure they weren't RCS messages?   MMS requires data to be on and does not work over wifi, RCS can work over either wifi or data as far as I know.

@Phil_Adelphus in the past when I was connected to wifi the MMS came in. It is only affecting the incoming messages as I have tested this out. I have a Motorola Stylus.

@Dolphin12  This is a recent issue and even when I turn on data the text doesn't come in.

Cellular data must be on to send and receive MMS messages (but not SMS).  In the original post you said it was outgoing messages that were delayed, so it's incoming as well?  What phone do you have?

@RavingRaven I'm going to give this "Settings>>Apps and clear your messaging apps cache" a try. I reboot my phone at least once or twice a week.

@EB0 I hope not. I know issues can happen but why ??? 😔

@Phil_Adelphus no I don't. I never have and haven't had this issue in the past. This is a recent issue and even when I turn on data the text doesn't come in.

@Chalupa_Batman thank you for the suggestion but this was the first thing I tried and it didn't work.

Try toggling airplane mode on/off in case you have a poor network connection. Then go to your messaging app in your Settings>>Apps and clear your messaging apps cache. See if that improves things?

Edit: Oh and when is the last time you rebooted your phone?

It looks like public mobile was trying  to fix the dropping calls issue, and then they broke the SMS.

What will be next, a total shutdown of the network.

@Dolphin12  Do you leave cellular data on all the time on your phone?

Hello @Dolphin12

Add this to the list of issues with PM right now. Not sure what's going on but everything seems to be failing.

Try this. I can't say for sure it will work but eh... worth a try.

Go into network settings, turn off automatic and pick Public Mobile then reboot. This "Sticks" it to PM and stays off of Bell/Rogers towers.
