Samsung Galaxy S25 Satellite SOS Functionality

Hi PM'er's, just ordered a S25 and I'm curious if the SOS feature will work via satellite. I understand it seems like it works fine on the iPhone, but the Samsung supposedly runs on a totally different network. I know Telus has a partnership with Skylo & PM is supposed to run off the Telus network. Anyone with any insights on S25 satellite connectivity, even if just for SOS callouts?

Thanks for all the responses everyone. It's kind of a lesser spoken about feature & there is not much written on it and if it will work in Canada. It's really too bad Apple can somehow bring this out 2 or 3 generations ago and it just works but Samsung has some patchwork system that's not really a proper solution. What's also fun about this is it's kind of hard to do a test SOS call to see if it works, I am sure the operators don't appreciate that too much.

When I actually get the phone I'll do what I can find out about this feature and report back here.

the menu item is not there.  Maybe as @softech said, Telus has not enable the feature yet.  And even Telus enables it, it is still unsure if PM will has this feature

Shamsung is the only phone manufacturer that plays this game of customization to countries and carriers.

In the past on Samsung phones, the worst part was how if you had decided to fully set up and install apps for your brand new device before ever inserting a SIM card, putting your SIM card into the device would cause an automatic factory reset without any warning.

@Eddie123 , it seems like you might be able to check out the settings to see if the feature is available for you.

@Eddie123

as of May this year, Telus confirmed that the feature has not yet available.

hi @Eddie123

Yes, Samsung Galaxy S25 series have satellite connectivity, but with limitations. This Qualcomm Snapdragon feature allows users to send and receive SMS messages via satellite, primarily for emergency situations or in areas with no cellular coverage. However, it's currently limited to a single satellite provider, Skylo, and the service is still developing
