The roaming partners have already dropped 3g. There's none left on AT&T and T-Mobile.

@ve7rhf

My personal experience with the talk portion of the add-on ...I found it to be ok in urban parts of Washington state. but lees reliable as you move away from town. I've only tried it in Washington state so you're experience may vary.

Make sure to select T-Mobile as the preferred network.

I found the text and data portions of the add-on to work just fine.

We keep hearing rumblings of PM introducing voLTE which should fix the roaming talk issue. 🤞

@ve7rhf   We don't know PM's plan.  They never tell us what is coming until it comes

But for now, US roaming voice is relying on T-Mobile 2G network.  Although the coverage is there, but it is not as reliable and a hit or miss

And a reminder, whether you are on 3G speed plan or 4G speed plan, we are using LTE/4G network for data and text.  Just that those on 3G plans will have their speed capped at 3Mbps.  So, in terms of roaming, Data and text has no issue roaming on T-Mobile LTE network.

But again, as to voice roaming, 2G network for now, until PM introduces VoLTE here.  It was said before that it should come end of 2022.  It didn't arrive, so, this is our wish list for 2023.
