Me…I hate to pay extra if I don’t have to. So depending when your renewal date is. I would renew the day before…that is just me.

If you are asking about plan change, it is highly recommended to schedule plan change on next renewal so you do not overpay your service and do not lose any data allowance from 'old' plan.
If you are asking about actual renewal, you could renew your plan at any time during 30 days billing period contacting agent. Do not know why would you do that but it is possible; otherwise just let plan renew itself after 30 days.
If you are on $15 plan, it is cheaper to buy add-on minutes (or more data) than to pay another $15 in the middle of billing period.

I'm not sure I understand the question?; Or are you noticing that they often run late... or rather the payment being taken and any subsequent suspension for non payment gets delayed as well? Technically the actual renewal of your plan runs on time. At midnight eastern your plan renews. It's day one of your 30 day cycle. Any minute, text or data counters reset and your rewards...at least the old ones get applied to your available funds. Now what happens after 12:15am eastern for up to the next 12 hours is a crapshoot!

@BorisDoris Renewal Now will let PM charge you now and start a new cycle. usually this is only used when people run out of data (or minute for $15 plan) and need the new data/minute immediately. it is like a early renewal (but must be on a plan differ from current plan) but something we can do without PM Support to assist
renewal later is best if you are not in need of the new data/minute. This will not cause any lost from the current cycle
[update: oops..not sure if i read wrong. i thought you asking Change plan new or later ]

Do you mean changing plans now or at next renewal date?
Most people recommend changing plans at next renewal date. Public mobile is prepaid and there are no refunds or pro-rating of plans. If you changed plans immediately, you lost whatever is remaining in your original plan.
