Remembering @computergeek541

Dear Community,

We have some sad news to share today.

We have learned that our Oracle and friend, @computergeek541, passed away suddenly on the morning of April 29, 2026.

An active community member for the past decade, he was passionate about helping others and keeping the community running smoothly. He also worked in earnest to improve the Public Mobile experience by identifying and reporting issues, focus testing, and advocating on behalf of all our customers.

He was known to stay online into the night and early in the morning to help, and in doing so logged a staggering 12,026 hours in the community.

He has contributed massively to the success of this community over the years. During his tenure, he provided our members with:

• 2,047 Accepted Solutions
• 28,100 Replies
• 17,958 Bravos Given
• 40,892 Bravos Received

He was known to be an avid deal hunter, and will be remembered as a mentor to his fellow Oracles and a strong advocate of our community members.

He will be sorely missed.

Sorry to hear the sad news and condolences to @computergeek541's family.

While I don't participate in the community forum much anymore, I do remember, when I did, that he never seemed to miss a day and was always willing to explain his actions on cleaning up the forum when other participants questioned those decisions.

@computergeek541 was very passsionate about PM and finding deals in general!!  He was a big contributor to redflagdeals and was always psoting deals he found to our Oracle Chats.  He was truly dedicated to this place and the customers of Public Mobile.  He was always very vocal on things that weren't in the best interest for us the customers.

You know he was a great Oracle when (this is going to sound funny) not everyone liked him.  He was very diligent in keeping this place in order and dealing with issues within the community.  To me that is what stood out was his direction was always the same there was no special treatment for people if it was outside the rules it was flagged and dealt with.

We had different opinions on things and had butted heads on occassion but we were always able to see each others point of view and there was a mutual respect (I felt) for each other.  It is hard to beleive and I still hope that one day I will see him post and there was just a mistake.

This community is an amazing place, and a lot of that is due to all the time and effort he spent here.  He was in Ontario and I am out on the West Coast and he would be in here late at night my time still working through things.

I think the Legend title for @computergeek541 is truly fitting.

Thank you for sharing this news with us. This community of regulars is like a family and hearing the news of the passing of @computergeek541 is like losing an extended family member.

Been a regular here, you miss someone when you don't see them for awhile and you wonder " hey, where's...".

I was wondering the last few weeks how come I didn't see him. Not in my wildest imagination did I think this.

I wish him eternal peace.

Very sad to hear of Computergeek541's passing. My deepest condolences to his family and friends.

I remember him from the earliest days of his participation in the PM community as we joined around the same time. His enthusiasm and passion was evident from early on in his engagement with the community and remained to the very end.  We had many interesting chats over the years.  I learned much from him, as I'm sure many here have.  A great loss to the community for sure.

This is very sad news. @computergeek541  has been one of the most dedicated Community members for many years. He devoted countless hours to helping others in the Community.

@computergeek541  might have been best known for his nightly "housekeeping" work, but one thing many Community members may have missed was how detail-oriented and precise he was. He spent an enormous amount of time making sure every starter post had the correct labels, all to ensure others could quickly and easily find the right information.

Personally, he helped me a great deal when I first joined the Community and was certainly a mentor to me

He will be deeply missed.

It’s a sad day.

@computergeek541  was a true “geek” — in the best sense of the word. He had tremendous knowledge about Public Mobile as well as many other technical topics. His passing is a great loss to the Community.

Oh, man....

Even though he was very strict and sometimes pain in the neck notoriously deleting 'duplicate' posts it is SAD NEWS when one from our community is gone.
