Re: VoLTE option is gone when using Public Mobile SIM

Ladie1, I am going to be buying the 4g plan for $35 for my Samsung S20fe5g. So I will be driving down to Florida from Toronto either by way of Peace Bridge (Fort Erie) or  the Ambassador Bridge (Windsor) on January 2025. Do you know if the phone will switch over automatically or do I need to use the setting, which you suggested as of January 3, 2024?

My S20fe5G  is listed as a SM-G781W.  Based on what I am hearing is that Telus will support my Samsung Cell phone as 5G on their network.

Just remember when in the US to have data roaming turned on in phone settings . Also set your network to 4G/LTE not 5G and make sure your connected to T mobile or AT&T some have also confirmed that Verizon works in some places so just be sure to try all 3 and use what works best for you.

Data roaming setting has not effect on VoLTE service.

Hello @jimbrowning

There have been reports of that phone not working properly with the Public Mobile network if I remember correctly. There were three models if I remember correctly. I do know the S20 FE 5G is not on the whitelist so it may work here in Canada but may not work in the US. What I'd suggest is trying the SIM card in the phone, make a call and if it goes from LTE to 3G then that phone won't work in the US. Public Mobile has a very strict whitelist.

hi @jimbrowning

make sure you turn on Roaming mobile data on your phone first

also confirm if your network connections is set to automatic.  If it is, your phone should pick up one of the three US networks and connect itself

just in case it does not connect then you will connect manually to T-Mobile, AT&T or Verizon
