The subject says it all. It now says RCS not supported when I try and turn it on. I've already tried clearing the cache again and restarting my phone and taking out my salmon putting it back in and following any instructions I could find online. As it was working perfectly before I cleared the cache I highly doubt public Mobile ceased support for RCs in the moment that I was restarting my phone. I initially was trying to clear the cache because voice messages over a certain length would just say failed to add attachment. I'm using Google messages not the building Samsung one. Any help would be appreciated.

Regular sms messages work fine. I've been in contact with a different PM agent every day it feels like and they all give variations of things you all have asked me to try here, or the same thing. One even said they've done a "network reset" on their end but nothing changed on mine when trying all the steps. Any other ideas?

Hi there thanks for your reply. By Carrier Services app do you mean the public Mobile app?
If so, I tried all that and still says not supported every time.
The closest I've gotten is uninstalling messages, clearing the cache, taking out my sim, turning off phone for 3 mins, then doing all the same in reverse. Then it says "Setting up" in yellow for about a minute before saying not supported again. Anyone else have any ideas?

Attempt to enable RCS chats after each step. Report back your results.

hi @almix
ask a friend to send you are regular SMS and see if it works
at the same time, you might want to check with PM support agent, submit a ticket with CS Agent using Chatbot here:
https://widget.telus.tiia.ai/publicmobile/publicmobile.html
Type the question "Submit ticket", Then click the following in order: "Contact Us" , "Other", "Log In".
(If unable to receive 2FA SMS, click "Didn't Receive Code" or "Resend Code" and Select "Send Email")
If any issue with ticket submission, you can submit ticket by direct message:

Oh sorry for the confusion, I'm not changing sim cards, sticking with the same public mobile sim card i've had for years. This only started happening as soon as I cleared the data/cache in the google messages app. I'll try uninstalling and reinstalling it again with the steps you provided.

hi @almix
Public Mobile does not block RCS, I am using it daily
make sure you removed your old sim card or disable old esim
and please follow the steps I posted above to uninstall the Google Message update, reboot and reinstall Google Message

Hm I gave this a try but exact same problem. Status: Not Supported then RCS chats have been disabled by your carrier. When I click details it says "Status code: 4002" and to contact public which is what I'm trying do do here.

Is that not Public Mobile? It says "RCS chats have been disabled by your carrier" (Public mobile being the carrier) any ideas how to fix this?

Boy do I ever hate stakeholders all up in my food chain!
It doesn't say "connecting" or anything it just says Public Mobile, (My phone number) and "Net Supported" in red then under says "RCS chats have been disabled by your carrier.

@almix , Public Mobile has not ceased supporting RCS. Reregistering for RCS can be finicky. It does take up to a day for it to complete as there are many stakeholders in the food chain.

This has nothing to do with the PM service.
Whoever is providing RCS you should talk to them.

hi @almix
it is more a Google thing
But easy fix is to uninstall Google Message first (it will actually say uninstall update). Reboot phone and Reinstall Google Message from Play Store (it will say update)
then make sure RCS is enabled and it will re-register
