Rbc Visa Debit Card

Hey guys,

I tried setting up autopay with my rbc Visa debit card. It was declined, saying, "Unable to process this transaction. Sorry, we are unable to verify your credit card information, so this transaction could not be completed. Your credit card has not been charged". Any ideas on how to fix this?

Is it working better with other credit cards? Is the culprit PM's payment infrastructure?

I have an appointment with an advisor from my bank tomorrow and I was about to throw the book at them and ask why they can process Amazon transactions without even the CVV2 but nitpick about every single aspect of a transaction with a cell service provider... Makes no sense to me.

It requires patience, alot of patience, @nmmblez

Recommendation would be to:

  1. wait 50 minutes
  2. clear cache and cookies
  3. open incognito tab
  4. try again

If you continue to get errors, when replacing/updating a payment card, try this tedious process outlined by a very experienced user to prevent the minor glitches that users have sometimes faced with this process:

  1. Reboot your device.
  2. Clear your browser, use secret/incognito mode in firefox, chrome or safari.
  3. Choose Manage My Card.
  4. Select replace card rather than remove card.
  5. Copy your address from your billing statement.
  6. Add your apt/unit/suite # to the street address. ie. 101-123 1ST AVE W, CITY, PROV.
  7. Do not put a space in the postal code. X0X0X0 not X0X 0X0.
  8. USE ALL CAPS if necessary.
  9. Do not use autofill. Type everything manually.

None of these work for me, tried IE, Firefox, Chrome and in their respective "Private modes" as well. Always end up with this message: "Sorry, your credit card transaction was denied by your card issuer, so this purchase could not be completed. Your credit card has not been charged. Please contact your card issuer for more information."

I had the same issue the first time I transferred my phone to publicmobile from Bell, big mistake. Had to try literally a dozen times, then call my bank with my girlfriend's cell phone because my line was lost in a limbo. RBC told me to fiddle with the address, then eventually told me it worked, then I struggled setting up the autopay, RBC finally told me the autopay setup was successful, now I on March 12, my line cuts abruptly. Self service can't process my card and can't call my bank... had to walk to the corner store by some voucher...

Seriously this service is a mess. It's like the self-service runs on a single-thread computer from the early 90s, what is going on?!

Website can be finicky.  Chrome incognito seems to work well.  Clearing cache is another idea or trying another browser.

Make sure the billing address matches exactly your banking address.  If apartment number, leave that section blank.

When I joined there were issues with the Visa Debit as well.  I used another card and then went in and changed the card to my Visa Debit.
