Public Subscription CAN NOT BE DOWNGRADED????

Przemek

I’ve been told that once you subscribe you can’t downgrade your subscription only upgrade. Has anyone else run into this?

Im on a 40$ 75GB Canada-US plan.

I don’t use the 75GB and wanted to downgrade to the 50GB Canada-US-Mexico plan for 35$. Public is refusing to make this change.

@Przemek  LOL yea I’m surprised they didn’t raise the price to $38 while at it . The original $34 50GB CAN /US plan is still there but now cost $36 . Seems be what they do get people talking about a plan creating interest take it away and folks asking will they bring back the 50GB CAN/US plan . And no one knows then bam the plan comes back and it’s $2 more .thats why is you see something you like you gotta pounce on it right away I’ve seen some deals only last hours before in the past

They just added fine print that says “new activations only” on the 35$ plan. What a joke lol

@Przemek  It’s funny everyone telling you do as I first suggested and in my first reply you see I was the first one to suggest it  in that link I gave you , and everyone like that  won’t work then that OP did as I suggested and it worked now they all like try my suggestion . I have the $35 plan available to me when I was on the $34 . But because of this nonsense I decided to go with the $30 plan to lay them less for being so difficult to lower plan price these days

If I try the hack I will have to select the effective immediately losing weeks that I’ve already prepaid for. I will then have to wait a month for the 35$ to take effect after the 30$ or once again lose 30$ by selecting the immediate option. I’d try it but I’d be out another 65$ before confirming that it works.

but yes I’ve confirmed I have a 30$ option, so support telling me “you can’t downgrade” is a straight up lie. They’re being selective on which plans they offer based on what you are currently enrolled in. There’s nothing in the terms and conditions preventing the switch. Straight unethical behaviour.

hi @Przemek do you see a $30 plan on your account?  if so, mind to try the hack I suggested above?

@Przemek  What’s worse is support has done the change for some and other had to do as I suggested downgrade to the $30 plan then the $35 plan should show up to change to so you will be spending more again . So do immediate change to $30 then change for next renewal to the $35 plan . They don’t want to help because you already paying $40

adding on just keep the $30 and pay them $10 less each month still get 20GB with that and it has US roaming . Then next time there’s opportunity to downgrade again you can hopefully even less . But the more you spend harder it is to go down in price spend again @Przemek

Most of the time you are correct. PM does not allow downgrades. It is ONE way street. If you do not see cheaper plan when you log in then none of those cheaper plans are not available to you.
Only solution is to cancel your current plan, get new sim, new email and activate cheapest plan for new customers and then go slowly up if needed.

MANY customers were commenting they cannot downgrade...

@Przemek  It’s greed plain and simple and they want to make more money , they did this new strategy right after taking away the old legacy rewards and moving everyone to the new points system that equated to nothing more the a price hike on loyal customers leaving many of us feeling trapped in higher priced plans . Most likely hoping that are remaining friend refferals will jump ship and give less back to those of us that worked so hard to bring PM new customers

Appreciate everyone’s input and recommendations but I’d like Public to show what in the Ts and Cs is preventing them from making this change. Seems ridiculous that they’re making their customers do a workaround instead of offering legitimate customer service. Plans not being available to all customers just because someone is currently paying more money is unethical.

@Przemek  yes and no it varies.

You can downgrade,  however you might not be able to downgrade to a cheaper plan than you currently have. You can only downgrade to the plans that show up in Your Account when you sign on. So to see what's available to you, you have to sign in and click on Manage Subscription.

This has been  the trend for a few months now...

HI @Przemek

technically you can still downgrade if you see the plan available to your on your My Account

you want to get the $35 roaming plan?  You don't see it now but there is a workaround to unlock it if you see the $30 plan there on your My Account

You can first pick $30 plan and do a Change Now plan change , which of course you need to pay now and the remaining days on your current cycle will be wasted.    With this, you might be able to unlock the $35 roaming plan, and you can then schedule a plan change on the following renewal day

@Przemek

the only plans avialable to you can be seen by logging in to your PM account.  You likely won't have many options to downgrade now.

@Przemek  It’s harder to downgrade plan price , but you should see the $30 plan if you change to it immediately you should then be able to see the $35 MEX plan to change to I’ve been telling customers this from the start and while no one believed me one customer followed thru and it worked check it out here

Downgrade to $30 plan first
