Porting number when you are not the main account holder

Hello everyone!

Just wondering if anyone has done this before and knows if there's any issue. My partner wants to switch to PM and port his number over from Virgin but his mom is the main account holder for his number (she signed him up when he was a minor and they just never got around to changing it, the number is registered to his name and he pays the bill).

Just wondering if he tries to port his number will she need to do anything? She is very busy, hard to get ahold of  and currently out of country so if it's likely she'll need to do something we'll hold off for now.

That's no problem.  When he ports over make sure you use the Virgin account number,  not the ESN or meid of his phone.  With the account number you shouldn't have any problems!  If you're a public mobile customer don't forget to use your refferal code on his new account!

@Brianna182  He would just need to know the virgin account number and the name on the virgin account . To start the porting process when activating the PM SIM card . Leaving the virgin sim. Card in phone to reply YES to the confirmation text to port

Hey @Brianna182

Nothing to worry about. It's easy. When he signs up with Public Mobile, he'll have the option to port over. As long as he keeps the Virgin SIM card in the phone to say YES to the porting request within that first 90 minutes, there shouldn't be any issues.
