Im trying to port my China Telecom number to Public but it isn't listed on the old provider list.  How do I port the number when the old provider isn't listed.

Thx

Many thanks. I'll do it.

If you can find a friend who speak Mandarin, it will be much easier to obtain the account number from CT.

Forgot to add there's a second option to try porting using the IMEI number instead of using the account number.  It didn't work for me but it could with you.

Just and FYI when you msg PM support, include the following: email registered to the PM account, last PM pmt made, temp PM phone number, IMEI or account number, and obiviously the number your trying to port over with old provider name.  I hope this list cut down on the back and forth with PM support.

You need to create a temporary PM phone number then contact the PM support to transter the number.   My current issue is that I cannot get my CT account number (its not listed on the invoice).  I've been unable to contact anyone to get my account number.  The CT line has a automated msg in mandarin then hangs up (i don't speak mandarin).  I also tried with the store but they're busy with BF signups and redirected me to the CT line.   Probably going to try calling again on Monday.

Ah ok, good to know!

@sheytoon there was a post on Koodo Community saying the person tried putting Telus and it didn't work.  So, I assume it would be the same here.

@softech right, that's what I assumed, thanks for confirming! The APN can also reveal which sub brand within Telus... Though I suspect it'll be sp.mb.com (MB = multi-brand?), which isn't super helpful. But if it comes back as sp.telus.com they would be able to select Telus as the existing provider.

@sl888 when you're normally using your China Telecom SIM, what is the APN on your phone?

 @sl888

in this case, check if your phone number is eligible to port in first

Once confirmed it can be ported into PM, activate you PM account with a new number first.

Once it is activated and fully functional, can make calls and receive calls, open ticket with PM support and ask them to port the number manually into PM. Provide them the phone number as well as your CT's account number.  Message them here:
