Port out my Phone Number to New Provider

Hi - I am looking to change providers from Public Mobile to PhoneBox. Could I please have my phone number authorized to do this? I am starting the new service on July 15th, could I also close my account and be refunded for half of the month? Thanks

@ColinS123   Your account stays active until your next renewal date, so you'll want to ensure that you are paid upto the date you are planning on transferring your number out.  When is your renewal date for PM?

Understood - thanks all. I will continue my Public Mobile service until the end of the month and follow the directions posted here. Also, Phonebox does not have any options for Roaming/out of country service so I will have to consider this as I will be travelling

This account needs to be active. Leave this sim in a phone. Remove any credit card on this account. From the other end do what you need to do to start the transfer. They are the ones to support you at their end. You will receive a text from here to confirm. Shortly afterwards (could be a day or 3) this account will stop and be closed.

There is no pro-rating with prepaid. Plan to do the transfer a few days before the end of your current 30 days if you don't like wasting your money.

@ColinS123 - this is a prepaid service. So whatever funds you have in your public mobile account when you port out the public mobile phone number gets lost and you lose access to your self serve as well.

PhoneBox should be the one taking care of the porting over to them. Have you contacted them to start the port?

@ColinS123   Before you port out your number log into your account and make a note of your account number and remove any payment card you might have registered.  Once the transfer of your number to another provider is done, you'll lose access to the account.

As for the port, that will be handled by the provider you are moving your number to.  So ask them for what required for you to transfer your number.

You should keep the PM account active and PM SIM in your phone to receive the transfer request and respond with a YES.
