I have an Alberta number on a Telus plan that I want to keep, but now live/work in BC. Can I port in my Alberta number to PM and still have a BC-based account?

Yes you can do:
1. Start a new account with a BC number (or any other province’s number) and later port your Alberta number.
2. Start a new account and port your Alberta number as part of the new account application.
Make sure your Alberta Telus account remains in a “paid up” condition and any contractual commitments are no longer. Porting the number out will cancel your Telus account.
If you have a referral code you will also get $10 discount applied to your account.

hi @jonsnow123
yes, you can. But make sure your account with the other carrier with the Alberta number is still active when you request porting
and an added bonus, PM charges tax based on the account phone number area code. So, after you ported your Alberta number, the tax will be calculated on the Alberta rate, which will cheaper than BC rate

download the Public Mobile app to your cellphone to activate a new PM account and order a new sim or esim. During that process, you'll be given opportunity to either select a new number or port your Telus number to your new plan. S'up to you but I personally would take a new number until plan is up and running as expected...then initiate the port. Just make sure to keep your Telus account active and in good standing until port is complete, at which time your Telus account is automatically deactivated.

@jonsnow123 yes, you can port your number from another province. So, you can port an AB number even you activate your account in BC
