Hi, I contacted customer service last week about a plan that included 2GB of data and talk&text for $30. I was told to order a SIM card then contact customer service again when I get it. I was also told that they do not know when the promotion is expiring and not to worry about that, as it will still be in promotion when I change my plan. However, today I contacted the live chat and they said to contact here.

Once a plan promotion is removed from the site I don't believe the moderators can offer you it. Unlike missed flash sale promotions ( like your second 30 days free) adding a credit or an add on is fairly simple. You can always ask if after you activate on the $35/2gb plan if they can change you to the $30/2gb plan( because it exists internally for moderators to access?) This may or may not be possible its up to you to A.) Convince the moderator you were offered this plan once you recieved your sim card despite the possibility of plan expiration (next time screenshot your conversation) and B.) Find out if its possible to access the plan internally. Please report back the result of your efforts and good luck!
Edit: Register your email for the current flash sale promotion today....while you figure out your options. Better to have that option than not.

Sorry, but the $30 plan is no longer available. Live chat said to contact customer service. That can be done sending a message by clicking on https://productioncommunity.publicmobile.ca/t5/notes/composepage/note-to-user-id/22437 . However, live chat did say that they didn't know how long that the plan would be offered, so while you can try, I wouldn't expect much.

Sorry I meant "change my plan" as in my current plan with Fido, and switching over to Public Mobile. Yes I didn't know that the live chat was limited and wouldn't know the specifics of the plans and promotional end dates. And I don't believe that there is an option for the chat to be recorded

"Change your plan"? This promo was only for new customers. And it has expired. You're now the second person that I've read to say you were informed to get a SIM in expectation of getting this plan.
The live chat seems to be misinforming potential customers. They can't know when a promo plan might end. Also, deliveries are taking longer with Covid so it ends up you go past the expiration of the promo.
So what can you do? About all you can do is ask the moderators for some understanding. Even better if you have the chat recorded.

Hi But I am only interested in the previous promotion. Is there any way to get an email transcript of the live chat- as that is what they told me?
If the previous promotion isn't available, I will not be switching to Public Mobile and will not need the SIM card anymore

You have to activate a plan and you’ll get a month free after your first billing cycle. The person you spoke to should know when a promotion ends as well. If your getting the run around you can always activate in store, it’s much faster and always works.
