Phone only has 3G or LTE options for data. Is LTE the same as 4G?

I just upgraded my plan from 3G data speed to 4G. Using iPhone X, my voice & data options are 3G or LTE. Is LTE the same as 4G or is there something that I'm missing?

@cmthompson yes LTE is 4G.  Change to LTE and you will get better speed
