Phone call: incoming call issue

HI,

 

Just port my number recently.  Today I found an issue not sure how to fix it.

 

1) I can make outgoing call

2) I can send and receive SMS

3) I can receive incoming call from my home landline (Telus)

4) I can't receive call (incoming call) from others.  I tested with my daughter's mobile, she is using Public Mobile.  A voice message saying my number is busy whenever she calls me.  Another also said the same thing.  I am not sure why that happen.  I reboot my mobile already. still... said my number is busy when my daughter calls me.  HELP please.

Even though the number seems readily available on the internet it has been repeatedly asked not to post it publicly on the community. If anything I mention it so presonal stats are not affected if pm chooses to to do a sweep and delete posts containing the phone number. Shortly after the bravo leaderboard was removed last year I noticed a sudden loss of 135+ bravos that could not be explained. When a similar sweep was made in early February this year it suddenly all made sense because I had often posted the telus porting number previously..... I prefer to keep my stats intact. Members can make their own choices.

 @Yummy : The porting number. But the number is all over the place so I don't see why it matters.

Could you please clarify Which phone number is forbidden to share here? PM's porting phone #? Or personal numbers?

Thanks everyone.  I reached out to the Moderator and the problem was fixed.

we all here to help other customer to keep them a happy with beautiful service with public mobile,, and we are not to fight other i hope you getting my point.

and i'm in here love to help any customer to keep them happy, and i'm never like to doing something a wrong or give to other people something bad,

the life is too short and here in community rewards is it not that big deals to we fight other people to getting more money for it,

Your welcome. If pm performs a sweep of the community for posts containing the phone number as they did in February and May of last year it can result in a significant loss of personal stats that can affect your community reward. I know from personal experience the effect it can have on one's stats.

I can make outgoing call, and it showed my number correctly on the receiving end.

 

Also, I tried using my home landline to call my number.  I can receive only incoming call from my home landline. Very strange.

Tried reseated the SIM and rebooted, same. still not working for incoming call.

@prissyho 

Your port did not complete. Did you reply YES to the porting authorization text on your old sim card?  If not then you must reinitiate the port request either thru the moderators or by calling the telus porting department with your old providers account # and by putting your old sim card back in the phone and replying YES within 90 minutes of recieving the text. I will private message you the phone number.

@prissyho  did you try to reseat your SIM?  (power down the phone, take SIM out , wipe it clean and then put it back in and power up)

 

it happened to me once.  Regular reboots didn't work until I reseat the SIM.

Try turning off your phone then turn it back on.  If it is still not working then submit a ticket to a moderator.

Make sure that you have the old sim card in your phone when you're porting your phone. You should get a message from your old carrier asking to confirm if you would like to port your number. Your reply should be: YES. 

 

The confirmation message can take a few minutes to come in. You have 90 minutes from the time of request. 

 

can you do try reseat the SIM card

1.power off your device

2.take out the SIM card,

3.wipe it clean SIM card,

4.put it back and power on,

5.toggling airplane mode off/on,  

 

it happened sometime you know, A normal reboot without reset, didn't work. At least try it,

only work after reseating the SIM card.

 

can you try it selecting the network to "3G ONLY"

what is mean for Rebooting the phone means to turn off your phone and turn it back on.

Clarification: it should be when someone calls me my phone doesn't ring it tell the person calling me it says unavailable. Then busy tone
