I'm in US, I have a Ca-US-Mexico roaming plan, and not able to receive any texts and calls, while data works and I can make calls just fine. This is urgent as I have to confirm a payment and I cannot receive the verification code through SMS!

Why is my phone not on PM's VoLTE whitelist? It's a legit phone, not stolen or lost.
3G on T-Mobile doesn't work either.
If I have to use textnow for calls and texts, then why I am paying for a monthly roaming plan?

your phone is not on PM's VoLTE whitelist and you will have trouble getting calls
try changing the network mode to 3G 2G only and connect to T-Mobile
if that does not work, please download VoIP app TextNow and use that to make calls and send/receive text

I have a Samsung S20 5G, and it was working fine just a few days ago in US on Fizz Mobile. I tried these network settings and none worked after changing them and rebooting the phone:

What phone are you using? It isn't from overseas, is it? A common problem is lack of VoLTE compatibility, though that doesn't explain why you can make calls and why you can't send texts.

Don't use 3G, as the US shut their 3G networks down, so that won't work at all. Set it to 4G/LTE as the preferred network.

Meanwhile I keep getting idiotic "badges" because I post another message. It's like saying "we're so glad you have issues, here is something to reward you for having issues, so keep having issues to keep earning useless "badges"!

Still not working. I can call, but I cannot receive any calls or texts. I tried setting the phone to 3G/LTE - still nothing. I logged on to a local wifi network - still nothing.
Never mind, I'll switch to Freedom Mobile. My wife is on Freedom Mobile and she has no issues whatsoever, plus an excellent customer service, unlike Public Mobile where I cannot even get to chat with a real person, let alone calling someone who can solve my problem.

@lucb1 Set phone to 4G/LTE not z5G and try connecting to T mobile AT&T or Verizon . And test again . Also note if your phone is not on the PM boLTE white muse making calls will be difficult and you have to reply in phone set to 2G/3G and connect to T mobile AT&T. . Worst case you can always download text now app or what’s app for for voice calls
