I am with Public Mobile over a year now and in last a few days I started to have service problems. Suddenly it turns to no service while I am in my office. There is no reception problem there (16th floor), never had a problem before and I noticed first time only when someone texted me in messenger when he was trying to call me. I fixed it by restarting my phone. Today happened again when I was trying to use Google Map in the car. It said no service and nothing fixed it. Again restarted and it worked. It’s annoying because I don’t know now how often and how long it happens.

Just to clarify @hTideGnow suggestion....swap sim cards between phones and see if the issue recurrs with your gf using her sim card in your phone. The fact that it corrects itself when you reboot indicates that it is a device issue. If it happens to your gf then it confirms its the device not the sim card or the service.

@aliaksar2000 Since your GF has the same phone as yours and also on PM, Maybe you try swap the phones between you two for a day? While it can be an issue with PM, it can also be a phone issue itself. If you swap phones and use it for a day or two, maybe you can confirm if it is network or phone issue

@gpixel where did you get that info about system deleting your SIM and cell towers being aware of it? FYI, Telus doesn't roam domestically, I'm not sure how any of that would impact coverage.

My gf is also with Public Mobile and her phone is same brand and model with mine (IPhone 6). We live together, she never had any issues. I never had in the past until I posted this issue here.

The problem is I am not even aware when it happens. I came aware when someone reaches me from other channels like messenger from my PC, or when I try to call someone. Once I see no service, I restart the phone and it goes back to normal. But that isn't the solution. God knows who else tried to reach me. Today my boss told me he called me and left me message. There wasn't any miss calls nor voice mail message. Then I notice no service on top. I restarted. It worked. There was now a voice mail, but there is no missed call. So I guess you can;t even see missed calls if the call was made when there was no service.

Thank you for the info. The problem persists, so I contacted to moderators team through your link.

Impossible it is poor reception area. 16th floor in the city, in the car while driving in the city, in a park in the city (Montreal), these were the locations when happened.

Unfortunately, I don't have another phone. But even if I have, this issue sometimes doesn't happen for weeks. Happened 3 times in last 2 days -the ones I noticed-.but the issue didn't reoccur at least in one last month -not that I am aware of-

on 4G LTE devices, the PRL(preferred roaming list) is updated with your SIM card. To ensure you have the latest PRL, you can power your phone off and remove/reinsert the SIM card once a month or so.
when you reinsert your sim, you are in essence deleting your old sim from the 'system' this in turn forces your carriers network to force an update to the network, making cell towers 'aware' of the new sim, this can improve reception as any new agreements between carriers and their cell towers and any new cell towers since your last sim will be 'aware' of the new sim, allowing it to access them.
in turn 'improving' your reception, in areas you previously had bad reception
then reset your network settings

Try toggling to airplane mode for a few minutes, then back to regular.
Always a good idea to reboot occasionally as well.
Are you noticing any 'no bar' signals on your phone? You will be okay, even with 1 bar showing. But if you have no bars, this equals no signal.
Check out your settings and look for Mobile networks.

If what you're describing is a new experience with no other changes on your end (i.e. device or office location change), after trying above suggestions, I would raise the issue with the moderators to see if they may be able to do something on an account/SIM basis.
To contact a moderator, there are 2 methods:
Watch for their response in your Community private mailbox which will be indicated by a number on the small envelope icon to the left of your Community avatar.

Possibly poor reception areas.
Other things to try:
Network reset of phone.
Manually select 3G connection versus LTE (or automatic)

What exact model of phone is yours?
best is to try to put the SIM in another phone to see if it is not a phone issue.
you probably need to test it for couple days to confirm if this problem always in the same area..
if so, maybe you can check if it is a tower issue:
It can also be OS related. I have an older phone I use to play around. No issue at all, but after updated the OS, it started happening with similar issue as yours. I need to flush the OS back to the older version.

If you have a another phone then try swapping the sim to see if it is an issue with your phone.
