New ported number not working - Error 8UV1

I ported a number over from Freedom 3 or 4 days ago, but now when I try to call it I get error 8UV1 and no calls will go through to that number. I tried calling from another Public mobile friend's number and also from Skype but neither works.

 

I have turned on and off my phone.

 

Any ideas? Thanks.

@erval800   8uv1 can be an error on Telus/PM due to high call volume on the system. 

 

Was incoming calls ever work on your PM SIM?    Did you try to login to your Freedom account to confirm if account was closed.  If closed, porting completed and this issue is not related to porting.  You can also try to put Freedom SIM in a phone and test if you can make calls from your Freedom SIM

Did you reply Yes to the authorization TEXT from freedom?

you can not receive calls. Can you make calls or use text/data?

Was your freedom account active when you made your porting request?

 

Did you reply YES to the PAT (porting authorization text) within 90 minutes of receiving It?

Can you try putting the Freedom SIM back in. Do you have any services on this SIM?

 

 

Do you remember getting the text from Freedom to approve the port over to Public Mobile?

Try your PM SIM in another device and see if it works by calling to that device.

 

It could be due to network traffic otherwise - and likely is the cause.

 

If the problem persists, contact a Customer Support Agent

 

To contact a Customer Support Agent, there are 2 methods:

 

  1. Use the ticketing system for a faster response time. Click here and type Customer Support Agent, then select contact Customer Support Agent, then select other (or the topic that more closely matches your request).  Click the result which states Click here to submit a ticket and follow the prompts,  or, 
  2. Send a private message to the Customer Support Agent by clicking here  You’ll need to be logged into your Community account for the link to work.

 

Watch for their response in your Community private mailbox which will be indicated by a number on the small envelope icon to the left of your Community avatar.
