Thank YOU for providing feedback. Not many customers do that and lack of feedback keeps us in the dark - did we help or not. Thanks again; glad advises helped.
One more happy PM customer!

@stefdav55 no need factory reset.
try to first power off the phone. Take the SIM out for a minute, then put it back and power the phone up

@stefdav55 , it's okay, you don't sound like an idiot. 🙂
Resetting Network Settings AND Factory Reset are different things, but it is good to know.
Resetting your Network Settings just does a good 'cleanup' of your phone's systems/network. You will just need to re-login into your wifi networks and/or enter other passwords again after doing this.
Factory Reset will erase your data on your phone, and you will lose it all if there is not backup.

Text messages work on both networks changing to 3G only would not be a fix for this issue. If there was a problem with the 4G LTE network then text messages would automatically switch to use the 3G network.
Try rebooting your phone. Next as suggested by @esjliv toggle airplane mode on/off. If those don't work before trying network reset go to your app settings and clear your cache. Try the network reset after this so you don't have to re-enter your wifi passwords unnecessarily if one of the first 3 troubleshooting tips fix the problem.

@stefdav55 No! Just restart the phone. That is all that's meant by reboot.

@stefdav55 I wouldn't go so far as to do a Factory Reset (yet) if that is what you mean. That would be last resort, and a backup of data should be done before this is completed...unless it is a new to you phone without any info. on it yet.
edit:
I think @softech mean just power your phone off. Maybe wait a minute. Then turn it back on. It is surprising how finicky things can be corrected in doing this.

@stefdav55 - try toggling to Airplane mode, then go back to regular mode.
Are you using iMessage, if so have you run out of data? Trying switching to SMS and turn iMessage off.
Also try performing a Reset of your device's Network Settings.
Iphone:
To Reset Network Settings, begin by opening the Settings app. Next, tap General -> Transfer or Reset iPhone -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings. and enter your passcode.
Your iPhone will reset network settings and restart itself.
android:
Find and tap Settings > System > Advanced > Reset options > Reset network settings.
This also resets Wi-Fi networks and passwords, cellular settings, and VPN and APN settings that you've used before.

@stefdav55 is incoming calls working? did you check if your My Account showing account status Active? Do you see any bars showing the phone is connected to PM network?
Start with a phone reboot. If issue persists, try to reseat the SIM card.
