@Badboy

Assuming you are talking about MMS texts here?

Other things to try if your DATA setting is turned on to send/receive MMS:

  • uninstall your messages app, then reinstall it.
  • remove your SIM, lightly clean the contacts of the SIM and lightly blow into the SIM card slot, replace SIM
  • ensure there are no network issues happening in your area

Check for outages in your area: https://www.telus.com/en/on/outages

or https://downdetector.ca/status/telus/map/

  • rebooting your phone and/or toggling into airplane mode for a network refresh
  • reset of network settings on the phone. Factory reset (last resort), but make sure to back up first

 @Badboy : Yes while MMS itself doesn't consume your data bucket, the act of turning on the data may consume data from the OS and other apps.

@Badboy   make sure mobile data is turned on to receive Picture message (MMS)

And no worry, it just need it enabled, it won't be counted towards your data limit

You have to turn on DATA on your phone. Receiving/sending MMS will NOT use your data allowance as per your plan.

 @Badboy : You need to turn on your cellular/mobile data to send/receive pics. Are you otherwise able to browse the internet? Is it an Android phone?
