Sending/Receiving Issues with Iphone Contacts

Jeff80

I am unable to send/receive pictures and/or group chat with my android phone to/from my friends/contacts who have an I-phone.

I can send/receive pictures and chat with out issues with contacts that have an android phone.

I can also simply test message with I-phone users, but when I send any form of picture the message doesn't go through. When they send something, it just states downloading and I get an error message later stating it couldn't download.

Any help would be appreciated.

I do have cell data on and I believe the correct APN settings, text messaging with pics works fine when sending/receiving with other android users.

@Jeff80

My friend had the same issue and I found out that he accidentally clicked on “Leave this Conversation” but he didn’t know he couldn’t get back on the group chat but I don’t think this is your case since you can receive messages from iPhones.

It could be an RCS messaging issue by the sounds of it on your Android phone.

Try resetting your network settings but remember to re-enter your home wifi password if you have home wifi.

@Jeff80   Do you have cellular data (not wifi) turned on for picture/chat messages?  You have the correct APN settings?

I have tried a different phone with the same issues.

My better half has a Samsung phone and she has no issue's with the same contacts so I assume the settings their phone should be correct but I will confirm.

hi @Jeff80

make sure you are sending MMS and not RCS

And this is more and iPhine problem.  Make sure your iPhone friends enable MMS

On the iPhone, Go to Settings, then Messages, and make sure MMS Messaging is turned on. The button will be green when it's on.
