MUTE - what is does exactly?

Playing around I clicked Mute on one of posts and got this:

What this Mute does? Can I un-Mute it if needed? I can still read all messages in a 'muted' tread and Unsubscribe is available.

Mute is not enabled on this posted.  Is it only the OP can Mute a post?

[Update: found.. i can only mute myself  :).. but @Meow  I can Unmute myself too   ]

go to your settings : Subscriptions & Notifications
and you will see the
Automatically subscribe me to all topics or reviews I participate in
do uncheck box and save it
is a lot new things coming..

@Meow  - I saw that too, and was going to test....but was waiting for a bit longer to see if things are still 'getting updated'?

Good question, inquiring minds would like to know.

EDIT - YES, you can UNMUTE the post, just go back to the drop down arrow and select UNMUTE. But it seems only linked to the individual post, not the thread ?
