Lured by a Black Friday deal but then came back. Is my positive balance on previous account lost?

I had been with Public Mobile for some time. Recently got offered a great deal by a competitor and took it (they ported my number) cancelling the public mobile account and login.

I then returned the device (too much monthly fee and other semi-hidden fees). I purchased another sim card and ported my number back to Public Mobile and got back to where i started. However, I used to have some positive balance in my previous account.

I can't access that account anymore. Is there anyone who could help let me know how I could get back that credit? or move it to my current account?

You made a lucky escape from the evil overlord......thats like winning the lottery! Good on you for knowing what your rights are under the WCC and not being afraid to exercise them either!

If your positive balance was significant it never hurts to ask the moderators for a credit equal to the balance.....whats the worst thing to happen they say no? You have saved yourself $1780 in the process and if you really want the iPhone 12 you will probably be able to get it for $500 or $600 next summer.

Yes, of course. I went with rogers. They had a great offer for an iphone 12 + high end sonos speaker and some other internet benefits for home.

After i got it all I realized I could keep the home internet benefits and didn't need the iphone 12. Doing just fine with my little iphone se.

I much prefer my $50 per month bill for two cellphone lines than $95 for one. Love this service!

If you are not paying it now, you will pay later at $95/m for 2 years.

Welcome back and enjoy your saving again with PM.  Be sure to get the holiday free add-ons.

Afraid all the prior posters are correct - I can't see how they would reinitiate unless there's some provision under the 15-day CRTC buyer's remorse rule, but I think that only applies to getting out of a new plan.

You can ask/plead your case to be sure, if you want to try.

Unfortunately, you would lose any credits once your account was ported and closed.  If you setup a new account before Dec. 31st there are some holiday freebies for 2 GB data and 500 LD international minutes.

@eddfa after you porting the number, your account and all information on it, including your balance is gone from the system. Unfortunately, you can't get that data and funds back. Welcome back to PM! Use recent promos for new customers and holiday giveaways😉

Would you be willing to say which competitor you went to and what the deal was?

As is often suggested around here, perhaps you ought to have activated there with a new number and try out the service and then port the number if satisfied.

Too late now though. No. Porting out forfeits everything. No pro-rating, no refunds. iirc the same with all pre-paid providers.

@eddfa  yup sorry all gone and have to start brand new again. You need to buy a new sim card and activate again.

Sorry, but you've lost the Public Mobile account balance when you ported out. You'll also need a new SIM card and account.  You're free to take advantage of any new customer promotions.
