Loyal rewards

Hi, I have been with public mobile for 3 years now. When I went to make a payment for next month I noticed my loyalty rewards not present. Now last month I was late one day with my payment. As a result, did I loose my rewards?

Thanks

Many of us here have a visa/gift card registered solely for the reward and/or data bonus without the intent (or the ability for the plan to renew) for it to be used for autopay. While autopay is not a pre-authorized card which is significantly different we may still not want the card registered to be used.

However if you don't top up manually beforehand with vouchers, carry a balance or have rewards that cover your plan amount replacing a $0 visa/gift card each month with chargeable card and back again is a pain in the hip! However if you choose to pay by voucher or carry a balance and would prefer to not have your regular card registered the offer stands.

The rewards page shows you what you might get that with all things remaining equal you can pretty much count on. The payment history shows you what you actually got after the fact which of course should match.

It's all good. As it was pointed out public mobile moved the rewards from the account overview to it's own page that confused me.

Going forward I do now have autopay enabled on my account for now anyway.

Yes, this cause me some confusion they moved the rewards from the account overview to it's own section. In the end I did get my loyalty rewards that I expected.

Would be nice if OP can provide some screenshot here   🙂

Yes, this was a direct result of the late payment and because of the fact that your account was suspended for one day due to late payment.  Fortunately, the loss of the loyalty rewards isn't permanent.  While the loyalty reward won't get applied automatically for your next renewal, you will receive it for the renewal after that.

@computergeek541

Your answer to the OP's question implies that suspension for non payment will cause the loyalty reward to not be applied. That is incorrect.

When referring to the loyalty reward not being automatically applied for the next renewal that would only be true if the OP had suspended their service via lost/stolen. The OP did not indicate that they enabled lost/stolen during their 30 day cycle...only that it was suspended one day for non payment.

If lost/stolen was enabled causing the glitch to occur that rewards do not get automatically applied upon renewal it would behoove you to at least inform the OP that they can contact customer support after renewal and ask them to manually apply the rewards. Then the following renewal rewards will be automatically applied returning everything to normal.

I believe the OP chose the solution based on the rewards being moved to a separate account from their self serve account. Clarity in our posts is paramount as the community is only as good as the information we provide.

@Blamb007

Do you not have a card registered for autopay to collect the $2 reward? If you would like a $0 balance visa gift card to register for autopay and collect the $2 reward but pay by voucher send me a private message and I will give you the card details.

If the OP self suspended via lost/stolen then all of their rewards would not be applied upon renewal. If the OP was suspended for non payment then the rewards would gave been applied to the account balance before the suspension occurred. Your post was ambiguous in regards to suspension.

I disagree with you.  I read the first post as saying that the suspension occured during the previous billing cycle as it says "last month".  I understand that rewards are applied before a renewal even finalizes. However, based on the wording in the first post, I do not believe that the two events happened during the same billing period.

@darlicious

The OP's account was suspended at one point during the previous billing cycle. I'm speaking of the possibility  that rewards were not paid out for the next renwal after that because of the account suspension.

Huh? I'm sorry what exactly are you saying here? Are you telling the OP that they didn't receive their loyalty reward because they were suspended for one day due to non payment? Not possible. Rewards are added to the account balance shortly after midnight eastern on the day of renewal. Long before the account would be suspended for non payment. Only enabling lost/stolen affects the application of rewards.

@Blamb007   Did you suspend the account for any reason (Lost/Stolen Phone option)?  That causes the rewards to be lost temporarily in which case you would need to ask customer support to add the missed rewards back to your account.

@Blamb007 ok it's possible you lost your rewards for late payment, whatever you do don't change to the new rewards system lol

@Blamb007   No you wouldn't lose loyalty rewards for a late payment, although suspending an account for 60+ days will forward (delay) the loyalty reward by that period.

PM made changes and so your rewards cannot be viewed on the main overview page, so you need to click the Access Rewards and then login again with the same login info as for your self serve account to view all your rewards, however, try not to accidentally opt into the new public points as they don't offer the same value as the old (grandfathered) rewards system and there's no option to switch back again either.

No, I haven't enrolled in the new public points system.
