@August...your PM acct is a 30 day prepaid account. You won't be billed for any additional costs other than your regular plan renewal.
If someone has your phone, they can only make calls within Canada (or another country if you have an International add-on)...but you won't be billed later for any calls.
Worst case scenario is they use up all your International calling add-on minutes .....if you have any.

Log in to your account and declare/select Lost phone. That will suspend account immediately. What do youmean 'costly calls'? All outbound calls to Canada are free (100 min for $15 plan). Unless you have international or similar add-ons there will be no cost to you if somebody finds your phone with SIM.

@August People picked up your phone cannot make costly calls as PM service is prepaid 🙂
Login to My Account, on the Quick Links on top , there is Lost/Stolen, and you can suspend your plan until you got the situation sorted out
Of course , get a new phone, get a new sim card from Telus or Koodo stores. Once you got them both, go back to unsuspend the plan and then request Change sim card
in case you cannot login to My Account, open ticket with PM CS agent:
To open a ticket with PM CS Agent. at : https://publicmobile.ca/chatbot. Follow this to get to ticket open screen quicker:
First type: "Forgot log in information"
Then Click "Contact Us"
Finally Click "Click here to submit a ticket"
you will then direct to another page to open ticket.
Once ticket is submitted, make sure to check your Community Inbox(top right corner envelope icon) periodically for response from PM's CS Agent
If you have problems submitting a ticket, you can also send a private message to the CS Agent (but this can take longer):

@August Log into your self serve account and select the Quick Links on the top right hand side of page and select Lost/Stolen and then Suspend service. Once you've found your phone or decide to replace the SIM, then you need go back and Resume service first before replacing the SIM card on account which also requires 2FA from PM.
