A friend wishes to change from Bell to PM. Her internet provider is still going to be Bell, and her email address is @Bell.net. Will she still be able to access her mail when she joins PM. All her important mail goes to that address, and it would be a big job to change her address everywhere. I will be setting up her account for her, and need to know how to set up her email.
Thank you in advance.

Aha! You need unique email for each PM account. Aliases ARE allowed so if her provider has an option to have aliases just create one or use it as per provider's rules.
E.G. abcdef@provider.com is the same as abc.def@provider.com (same mailbox) but it is DIFFERENT for PM so it can be used to create new account.

@Tessieboo1952 A plus to going with a gmail account would be that if they ever dump Bell in the future and lose that email address anything with the gmail address will not be impacted.

@Tessieboo1952 Anyone can have access to more than 1 email address on their phones, tablets or computers. You are overthinking this a bit. 🙂 I have 6 different email addresses (from various providers) that I have access to at anytime.

Thank you for your reply….. was trying to set her up yesterday to order a sim card. She shares her email address with her husband, and when I entered that address, a message popped up saying that that address already has an account, so use another address - her husband has a PM account. So, I was going to create a gmail account for her just so I can sign her up, but then that got me thinking as to whether or not she would still be able to tap on “mail” and it would come up with her bell mail, and not gmail. She spends the summer at the lake where there is no internet, so she depends on her phone data for everything. Anyway, I guess I’ll eventually figure it all out.

Whatever email address she has will still be her primary email and all communication will go there.
PM has noting to do with her email. PM requires email as part of signing on, nothing else. And if she considers participating in Community she should open Community account with the same email as PM account.

from what I understand, the @bell.net is tied with her home internet service and not the phone service. So, as long as she keeps her internet service with Bell, she will get to keep the bell.net email address. And of course PM can still send communication to bell.net. But please ask your friend to confirm with Bell as well.
