@andy889  when you open the app to activate with SIM card in hand you will need to put the SIM card number in or use the camera option that’s there to input the sim card number for you . Then just follow the prompts . If you have any issue come back here and we can advise

adding you can buy PM SIM card from Amazon $4.99 or pick one up from Telus / Koodo store in person for $10

@andy889, First, confirm your number is eligible to port into PM (Public Mobile), (it is a Koodo site because both Koodo and PM use the same Telus system):
https://secure.koodomobile.com/checktransfereligibilityparrot/checkSingle.do

Also, make sure your old provider account is still active.  Login to your old provider account and make note of the account number as you need this when you request porting

and when you are ready to activate, remember to download Public Mobile app and use it for activation

@andy889  Not at all download PM app to activate following the prompts . You will have option to transfer number after you make payment ,keeping virgin sim active and in phone so you can reply YES to the confirmation text to port . Also only use virgin account number and ignore the IMEI . It’s not needed and only causes hiccups typically. And be sure to ask a friend for referral code to save you one time $10 credit
