International (not US) roaming options

Hi- looking to travel for a brief period down south (not US) and need to figure out how to set up roaming. Can someone please help me?

As others have said, PM only offers roaming in the US. You will need to activate roaming on your phone in cellular settings.

WhatsApp and similar services are good for contacting people you already know and who also use the same service; text or voice calls. Many of the eSIM offerings like Airolo do not provide for local calls in the country you are visiting; they are data only [you can get your email, use WhatsApp, FaceTime, etc.] If you want to make local calls you can search for an eSIM with that option [rare] or try the old, reliable SKYPE. I've used it successfully [connected to my data eSIM] when I wanted to call a hotel or other local business. My $5 purchase deposit a decade ago still has a good balance as calls tend to be 1-2¢/minute.

Unfortunately Public Mobile only offers service in Canada and US
If you are travelling outside of this area I would suggest a local SIM card or a travel sim you can purchase online or on Amazon and only they will offer in country Call/Text/Data depending on which you buy - they are usually not overly expensive but you do have to waste time getting/setting this up..
If your phone is newer and offers E-Sim capability check out travel data plans on Airalo... With Airalo travel E-Sim you can get Data and then use various Apps for communication....

@annoyedone The easiest thing to do is get TextNow or Whats app as suggested by @TheSterlinger . Wifi is pretty much everywhere now so you could make and receive calls to/from Canada for free.

You would have to buy a travel SIM. Public Mobile only works in Canada and the US. You can also use services like TextNow or WhatsApp.
