I really like public mobile but I'm traveling to Europe for a month and I read a horror story about someone who was a customer and lost access to his banking and other vital services because he couldn't get authentication text messages oversees for 2FA. As a result of this, I'm considering leaving public mobile before my trip. Any news on international roaming outside US and Mexico?

i agree that it will never come. If roaming other than US and Mexico is needed, you should check with Koodo or Telus

No notice from PM but I doubt that PM will offer Roaming in Europe because PM is a low tier Telus service with no frills.
TextNow will work if you lock-in your number on the optional feature when connected to wifi or on the local SIM data.

@agabar as customers, we wouldn't !know that information. Only Public Mobile would know until it's told to the general public. For now though I would think it's a safe guess to say not for the immediate future.
You can send to email, but I know personally that not everyone sends 2fa codes to email. Especially not some banks or financial institutions. Most banks are also very suspicious of any account changes within 30 days. So if you were to change your method to email just prior to your trip, you could be referred to their fraud department. I

Never say never @agabar... look at all the folks here who said PM would NEVER get Mexico added. LOL.
Take a look at Airalo for an eSIM for Europe. You won't be able to use your PM account there but if you get an eSIM from Airalo you can use data to use FaceTime if you have an iPhone or whatever Android offers.
