There isn't any way for anyone here to know that. The SIM card can be inserted the wrong way into many devices. Even with a notched corrner, it's very possible to still insert a SIM card tray, slide a SIM card into a slot, or close the clamp/door to hold the SIM card down even if it's in backwards, updside down, or otherwise inserted in the wrong direction. This will always depend on the design of the device.

The SIM has a notched on one of the corner. It will match up with the notch on the SIM tray. You might want to use a magnifying glass to check.
A senior friend of mine accidentally installed the SIM backward and damage the corner of the SIM. The phone indicated No SIM.
Good thing he didn’t damage the SIM tray.
If you are worried about putting in wrong. I would suggest to go into any cell store and they will put it in for you at no charge.

@Lizzy09 It depends on your model of phone. iPhones have gold side facing up.

What make and model is the phone ?
Top corner is notched so you can't go rong.

It usually depends on the phone @Lizzy09 .
There should be a flat corner to fit correctly. Are you using the nano sized (the smallest once outer parts are removed ?)

@Lizzy09 @Some do some don’t but the SIM card should fit in the tray flush no rising or lifting and push in all the way
