I want to suspend my account

bukolajayi

My account is due for renewal tomorrow April 8 and I have funds in my account. However, I will be out of the country from tomorrow so I'ld like my account suspended, i.e. I don't want to use the funds in my account till I return in a month's time. How can I go about this please?

@bukolajayi to save any funds, you must suspend before your renewal.

OR, if you suspend 5 days after renewal. You have 30 days of use after that renewal date. So if you reactivate 28 days later after your renewal. You will only have 2 days left to use in the current cycle.

hope that makes sense.

@bukolajayi  Your new cycle starts tomorrow (April 8), PM Will charge you full cycle tomorrow.  You suspend it 5 days later, around 13th, please note there will be NO REFUND for the next 25 days that you didn't use.  However, as long as it got suspended, PM will not charge you further, so, it won't charge you again on the following  payment date (May8 )

If you need to use the service for the next 5 days, then, let it renew next day but keep in mind you are paying for 30 days service for 5 days of service you actually using

If you want to save a bit of money and you don't want to pay tomorrow,  and you can last with just using Wifi, you can use Wifi for internet, for voice, you can use free VoIP app like TextNow.  TextNow will give you another Canadian phone number and you use the app to make calls.  People will call your TextNow number like a regular phone.

  • Thank you very much @esjliv @Just for my knowledge, if I manually suspend my account say, 5 days after renewal, does it continue to use up all the funds in my account or is my account frozen till I manually re-activate i

- Remove autopay

- Remove credit card

- Report phone as lost/stolen; that should suspend your account immediately

Be aware that after 90 days of suspended service your account will be closed!

@bukolajayi   Later tonight, login to My Account and click Lost and Stolen Under "Plan and Add-ons" tab (https://selfserve.publicmobile.ca/Overview/plan-and-Add-ons/suspend-service/)  to manually suspend your account.  Make sure you do it before midnight tonight, maybe even a bit earlier

But once you clicked that, you won't be able to use the phone service.

@bukolajayi  log into your account and list your phone into lost/stolen status.

This will prevent it from renewing and taking any available funds balance.

Just ensure your come back to resume services before 90 days. After 90 days your account will close permanently and you will lose your phone number.

Do the funds fully cover a renewal? You could remove autopay or your card altogether to make sure that nothing else is charged. I believe you could click on the lost/stolen and that should put everything on hold including putting current balance towards it, but the vets should be bale to clarify that
