You coudn't text for sure, but is the US the only place you can receive texts with no add ons? Or can you receive texts in other countries without an add on (everything else wouldn't work mind you)

Confusing post.
Based on title it looks like OP is in Mexico. In that case - PM does not offer service in Mexico at all.
But reading post's sentence it looks like OP cannot receive SMS FROM Mexico (and he might be in Canada).
So, OP - WHERE ARE YOU right now?

You cannot. PM does not have service in Mexico. They most they can do is roaming in USA
Try getting a VoIP app like Fongo or Textnow to make calls and text. it works as long as you have wifi
If you want to have Mobile Data, use local prepaid sim card. You can try Moviestar.

Ask sender to verify all codes they add in front of your number.
Have you ever received SMS from Mexico?
Are you currently in Canada?
What Plan are you on? Does it have international SMS send/receive?

Unfortunately, PM does not have Add-on Roaming in Mexico.
Roaming is only available in the US.
You need to purchase a local SIM in Mexico.
