hi ! I canceled my subscription roughly 4 months ago as I went on vacation. Now I came back and my phone number is lost is there anyway to recover it ? Please help me, I really need that phone number

The number would have been released after 3 months of your account being suspended. Have you tried calling the number to see if someone answers? If it's been reassigned you're out of luck. If it's inactive you can try to get it back, but YMMV.
You'd have to call the carrier who originally owned the number to see if it's available to manually assign to you. If you originally got the number from Public Mobile you can send a private message to @CS_Agent to inquire. If you ported the number in from another carrier (or another carrier before that etc.), you need to contact that carrier to see if they have it. If they do you'd need to sign up for a plan with them (assuming they'll give you the number back) first, and then port it back over to Public Mobile.

Dial 1-855-4pu-blic and enter your number and listen to the recording. If it says it can't find it or invalid or something then the account is dead.
Dial your old number and see if anybody answers. If they do then the number is gone. If it doesn't come back with an error then also likely gone.
Give us the first 6 digits and someone here can find where the number originated.
Apparently you didn't need it that much if you let it go. 🙂

You could try contacting agent and see if your old number is not re-assigned. Otherwise, number is lost and your account is closed so you need new SIM and new account. Maybe new email, too.
