Hi Community,
I just subscribed to the services a few days ago and I am waiting for the SIM card. I want to cancel the $45 for 60 GB subscription but can't do anything until I get the new SIM delivered. The only option on the site is "Resume Activation". I already paid for 3 months subscription.
Now they have the cheaper boxing week promos on the site... How can I cancel the subscription?
Thank you for helping!
Ketan

@hTideGnow Nope clearly OP question was to cancel and my reply was to help . That’s it or they would have asked about refund from the start .but sure glad they got one anywyas despite the nay sayers

I am not sure about this.. The main problem is Customer Support. I can not rely on chat or private tickets to get things done... But I am amazed that the community members are there to help in most of the cases...
What do you say about the PM wireless services? Do they have consistent, reliable and fast Wireless services than compititiors?"
For the most part your account is managed by you through self service and usually this is pretty straightforward although there are glitches from time to time. It seems getting started with PM is the hard part since the app and Eversafe were brought in earlier this year! The chatbot/ticket system broke about the same time which is why support is by private message if there is something you can't manage yourself. Usually the agents reply quickly although there have been some slow downs due to volume of new subscribers around Black Friday. As far as the service is concerned, I've had no problems with it and PM runs on Telus/Bell towers in any case.

Yes @hTideGnow , I knew 😉
Gotta say, I’m pretty surprised that Public Mobile would grant a refund, especially since the OP is leaving and going elsewhere.

thanks for the confirmation @KMPrajapati. Yes, as I said above, we saw people able to get refund as long as the line not really activated like in your case
So, you re not giving PM another chance? They have great deal now , $34 for 40GB with unlimited reduced speed

Thanks to all of you guys... It is nice to see that community members are more keen to provide support to each other. I talked to CS_Agent and they will refund me the amount for the line I paid for and not activated yet. The SIM Card payment is non-refundable. I requested to proceed with the refund. Awaiting their confirmation.
Thanks a lot all of you!

no apologies needed. The OP question and @Handy1 reply clearly talking about refund 🙂
Yes, OP could be talking about switching plan, but it sound more like a refund 🙂
12-16-2023 12:49 PM
Okay then @Handy1 , my apologies for misinterpreting your intent.
It seemed like that was the inference and it appears @hTideGnow may have also read into that similarly.

hi @KMPrajapati,
If you are unable to switch plans upon activation, the other option would be to keep your current 3 month plan which you previously selected and subscribe to the new boxing day plan but choosing the option to change your plan effective the "Next Renewal Date". This will ensure that you haven't lost out on what you previously paid for and will permit you to lock in the new rate 3 months from now.

@HALIMACS In OP thread said he wants to cancel you then suggested I know there’s no refunds as if i said sure get e refund . I was simply saying contact support to cancel it and have the link . Never once did I mention a refund
12-16-2023 11:37 AM
Uhm … really @Handy1 ?
Perhaps I misinterpreted that the OP wasn’t asking about refunding the subscription they said they paid for?
Is that accurate @KMPrajapati ?

HI @KMPrajapati
As @Handy1 suggested, you can open ticket with PM support and ask for a refund.
While the terms said clearly no refund as @HALIMACS said, we saw some people replied there and confirm agent could help for a refund if the service not started yet, like in your case sim card not even delivered
And agent sometimes even suggest to get a charge back from the credit card
12-16-2023 08:52 AM
@HALIMACS I never said anything about a refund .OP never said anything about a refund . Why are you taking about a refund
12-16-2023 07:26 AM
@KMPrajapati Thanks for clarifying. BTW the 60gb plan is $40 a month on the 90 day plan, you can also get 100gb unlimited now for $50.

@KMPrajapati Do you mean you want to cancel having an account with Public Mobile altogether, or just switch to a better plan? If you just want the better plan you can get the system to change to the one you want on renewal of the current plan. I assume you may need to wait until you have activated with the sim card, not sure about that. I'm reading your post as if you just want to change plan before you've got the sim card rather than leave PM for another carrier? It's worth a try to see if customer service can switch you before you activate.

Here's what it says, in part, @KMPrajapati :
"Can I receive a refund of unused funds if I cancel my service?
Funds added to your account are non-refundable."
12-16-2023 06:50 AM
Their service terms are pretty clear, you can review them at the bottom of the page.
There are no refunds.
Saying that, you can try your luck as the worst they can say is "no".
There's also the chargeback option that you can pursue with your credit card provider if Public Mobile are unwilling to refund. You might have some success there given you have not received the services that you have paid for.
12-16-2023 06:46 AM
Thanks for your reply @HALIMACS ! So, I will not get any refund from Public Mobile even though I haven't used the services?
Obviously, I am not expecting refund from community... I meant it for Public Mobile...
Thanks..
12-16-2023 06:36 AM
Let us know if they complied please @KMPrajapati.
@Handy1 knows there's no refunds given around here so unless he's aware of some special circumstances, you might not get this.
12-16-2023 05:54 AM
Thanks Handy1 !
