I added 1000 US calling minutes to my plan this morning but I still cannot call the US. And I don't see the Add On listed in my plan. (My existing plan does include Talk.)

There should be no delays.
Purchasing add-ons is two step process: add funds and then go back to purchase correct add-on.
Can you see your add-on on your self-serving account?

@alexandraamor It should be instant. But buying add-on is a 2 steps process
1. Load fund
2. Actual buying of the addon
any chance you just loaded fund and didn't actual buying the addon? Check your Available fund in My Account. If you see there is fund there equals to what you just loaded. if so, then you didn't do step 2, please go back and buy the add-on
Also , try reboot your phone once after
