How do I manually select Public Mobile's network in order to access my data?

I don't use data very often, but have 2048 MB in an add on plan.  I am not sure if I ever used any of it, but I think I did a year or two ago. I have tried a few times to use it in the past year and the phone just advises that it can't connect to the internet. I asked this useless Chat Robot, but that was a waste of time. I have searched on this site, but can't seem to find an answer.  An answer as to how to be able to use this data would be appreciated.

I don't do that, so I am not sure, I can try to send one to myself and see if that works.  I seem to recall trying to send MMS awhile ago and was advised that PM did not support that.  Maybe that has changed?  Maybe I am thinking of something else?

Have you looked on your account under my data & add-ons for lines mentioning data? Or if you have your 4 digit account pin you can dial 611 and get your remaining data balance.

I am not sure how that is done. I used to receive data when I first got the add on data from PM, I don't recall having to do anything to turn data on, and I am not sure if it somehow got turned off. Sorry, technically challenged

Hi @eatnb1   Do you have iPhone or Android?

 

For iPhone, make sure Carrier Profile is updated.

 

For Android, compare your APN setting with what is shown here:

Can you use data at all which come by default with your Plan?

Not using this particular data bucket is one thing. Not being able to use any data is another.

There is plan data and then there is add-on data. You can buy add-ons. You might get freebie add-ons. You can get promo add-ons at sign-up.

But it sounds like you haven't used any data. Almost certainly APN. Can you provide images of your current APN settings.

What is the model of the phone? Have you tried restarting the phone?

@eatnb1   if voice call is working, you don't need to manually select PM in the network

 

But for the data, you need to make sure the APN is correct.
