I've been a Public Mobile user since the old rewards scheme, where occasional "gift add-ons" did not expire. For me this was very practical; having a few gigabytes of bonus add-ons in reserve meant I don't run out of data even at the scrimpy 250MB I was subscribed to.
I later got force-switched to the new scheme, and also took the bait for the $19/2GB option. Curious to see how much of that I'm actually using I went online and saw what is below.
Why would it be taking some of my usage off a "reserve" add-on when I have lots of room on my primary, monthly 2GB? And how do I even tell what is a non-expiring add-on from the old days, and what is an expiring one (and when does it expire)?

the 0.51 and the 7GB are the TOTAL of regular + resversed usage. It is confusing
but for your monthly , it is 0.22/2GB, that is the meaningful number
so, you didn't used 0.51 GB this month, you just used 0.22 🙂

I was wondering because it says I used 0.51GB this month so of course the assumption was the 0.29GB off the add-on was also used this month. Is that not so?

hi @Markus_Wandel you asked about the 0.29/2GB from the 2GB one time bonus? that is how much you have you since you got the bonus. You could have overused on a month before and they took it off there back then.
for regular monthly, they always use your regular data first, only touch them when the regular data all used. If you use some data today, and check back tomorrow, you will see your regular 2GB goes down further but other "reserverd" data will stay same
