Do you have the SM-T577U/DS model? This model does have voice call capabilities. What does your network connection show? Otherwise you should be able to launch the phone app. You can reach out to the samsung members community for help, call 1 800 SAMSUNG or live chat with customer support.

Hi @galex3421 I have a Galaxy tab myself, but different model, it does not come with a phone app

And some provider,  when they see your sim used in a tablet,  they won't pass you the voice call

Samsung has the feature to let you answer calls on tab, but your model is not compatible

@galex3421 first does this phone come with a phone dialer app?

Also, which exact model is that?  These are some feedback about the different models (I assume yours is a LTE model, but even LTE model, it could be different in terms of call making)

SM-T575: LTE version for international, can insert simcard & make calls
SM-T570: WiFi version for USA, cannot make calls
SM-T577: LTE version for USA, can insert simcard but need to be connected to second Galaxy smartphone of the same account

@galex3421

Strangely you will soon have the opposite problem of most pm customers that once telus enables VoLTE calling for pm you wont be able to use it as your device does not support it. But it should be able to use the 3G network for calling. As suggested by @Dunkman  choosing 3G only may solve the issue s it may not switch automatically bdtween 4G and 3G for calls.

Alternatively you can download a voip provider app such as textnow or fongo and use that for voice calls. If you put your sim card in a phone you can call forward your unreachable option to your voip phone number so you can recieve pm calls on your device and make calls using the app. (After you call forward your pm phone # the sim card can go back in your device.)

Does your SIM card work in a mobile phone?  ie. able to receive and send calls.  If it works in another phone, then it is a hardware issue. Not a PM service problem.

Here are the specs of your tablet:

https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_tab_active3-10476.php

It should be compatible with PM/Telus Network.

Might want to try to manually select 3G Network (instead of LTE) to see whether that work.

It has been reported online that other users of this device has issues with voice calling.
