thanks @softech and yes @Meow that was my thought also but with hour drive to me to help with activation I wanted ask you fine folks here for assurance. . So we decided to try and check it out and it worked so @computergeek541 @I’m thinking your right it’s the proper SM-A037W. model as it didn’t miss a beat .
on side note when activating the physical sim I got this for the first time
I was like oh no I need support , decided to try card in the phone and it worked . So makes me wonder how many times people see this and maybe just hadn’t out SIM card in yet . Also in the moment if here put this in your phone bud . I tried reach out to support thru chat bot don’t work for me had use private message and luckily the replied with in 6 mins so very timely response there to not having to respond gain phone booted up and I didn’t even need support . So unless SIM card said SOS would you need support assistance is my experience with this referral . Y’all enjoy your day !

It has one of the 2 bands only for 3G. As you know, with Telus reframing the 850 Band and it has no VoLTE, voice could be a challenge
And with data, it only has 2 bands on 4G, which won't work great. In the old days, you can still rely on the 3G but it is no longer true
I would avoided using this phone here
The Samsung Galaxy A03s is a device that was sold by Canadian carriers. While there are multiple versions of this A03s device worldwide, the Canadian version is the SM-A037W. This version does have both band 2 and band 5 HSPA network type that Public Mobile uses. It also has more than 2 bands that Public Mobile uses for LTE.

Do YOU have service with PM?
Do YOU have physical SIM?
if all is Yes, use your SIM and test it in friend's phone.
If phone is too old it might work NOW but might not in a (near) future as G3 gets shut down.
