I lost my iPhone that has a physical public mobile sim card in it. Went a few days without a phone then bought an esim for a spare phone I had. I would really like to switch back to my original phone, but when I enter the sim card number in my account it tells me it is invalid. Is the only option to buy a new sim card for that phone?

Ok thanks, that's sort of what I was expecting but it is disappointing that the perfectly good sim card I have is just trash.

sim card are one time used, once you activated the eSIM, the SIM card was then voided and unable to be re-used
You can change back to your original phone but need a new sim card. Cheapest and fastest way to get a new sim card is from Amazon for $5 https://www.amazon.ca/gp/product/B06X9ZGDWG/

@SC444 , e-SIMs are not transferable from phone to phone unfortunately. You can go to a Telus store and buy a physical SIM and update it into your account to replace the current e-SIM.
