I’m just wondering if the Motorola razr v3xx is compatible with public mobile sims. I’m trying to downgrade to an older flip phone and I know that most are only 2G compatible but the v3xx is 3G compatible but I don’t understand bands.

I really like @Yummy's idea because data on some older phones are hit and miss sometimes. It may also depend on area and what towers/signal is accessible. They say there's only way to find out - and although not necessarily true, is sometimes the best way to see if it actually works or not. 🙂 I remember that phone, people loved it!
If that doesn't work, there are other flip phones out there people are using for very simple telephone communication that are usually pretty inexpensive.

If that phone can handle frequencies mentioned here and in Help it should work with PM.
Ideally it will be if you can borrow PM's SIM for a few minutes and plug it in and check if SMS, calls, data are working.

It looks like that the phone has HSPS but it still might not have the proper band used on PM. Also, It's an older phone and it could also have a problem that the phone is locked to other carrier and you have to find the unlock code
The best way is to try it with a friend's Telus/Koodo/PM SIM and see if it works.
If you don't have a friend on these network, maybe go to a Koodo store, tell us you are planning to activate on Koodo with this phone and ask them to test with their SIM.

That links show that the phone is HSPA-capable, but that itself doesn't mean that it'll work at Public Mobile.

Public Mobile uses the following frequency bands:
Please note that this information is indicative only. Your phone's compatibility with our 4G or 4G LTE networks is based on the radio frequencies of your phone.
Always good to check whether a phone will work with any provider, especially Public Mobile. Use more than one source to be sure.
