It's the first time I purchased and used long distance add-on minutes in a province wide calling account. I thought that when traveling outside the home province, all incoming calls require use of the add-on minutes and outgoing calls outside the visited province also consume add-on minutes. Based on the minutes used, it seems like all my incoming calls were free and only calls outside of the visited province were counted. Am I making sense?

I am still happy with this glitch 😄
For me all incoming calls
- no matter where I am in Canada
- no matter who calls me from planet Earth
are free.

@ShawnC13 wrote:@Luddite, thank you that is what I was expecting and I believe that is why when you are in another province if someone calls you they are not deducted from your total. As that is now your "Home" province while you stay there that is why you still have province wide calling there. Your phone is just receiving the call and I don't think it should be deducted from your LD minutes if you are not calling LD.
Interesting....
When you are in other province, i don't think that is considered as your home province since you cannot receive any calls outside of your province if you don't have LD add-on. However, there seems to be an error with the LD add-on that matches your thinking. With this glitch, you can literally make less than min call and tell other party to call you instead
Actually I was receiving calls from the so called home province and the province I travelled to without consuming add-on minutes. As I mentioned this is how province wide calling works with other carriers. It does stand to reason that public mobile works the same way.

This is how it should work. That's what I was used to with Wind. Call recipients are not charged to receive calls. Outbound calls are charged to the carrier and so add-on minutes are used when making long distance calls outside of the province from which the call originated. It's just that the official explanation differs. TBH, the official explanation is wrong or should be wrong.

Incoming calls in your home province are included in your talk feature. No matter what province / country the number they originate from is registered in.
When you are in your home province, minutes are deducted from your add-on if you are calling a number that is registered outside of your home province.

I guess I shouldn't have open my big mouth. This is one bug that I am sure all customers don't mind if it never gets fixed. 🤗
