Hi,
I tried dialling a number with an in-province area code and I'm getting an error saying it is a long distance number and I don't have an add on. The number is clearly an area code associated with the same province 778 and I'm in BC. How can I solve this? My plan has unlimited provincial talk.

Thanks - rebooting did not work. I have never heard of Fongo, but have got it up and running on my phone - will try that in the meantime and contact mods to sort out larger issue.
Thanks!

Maybe try rebooting phone.
At this point I persobally would message mods and have them look into it. But they are currently backlogged. I would also buy the the long distance add-on and see if that helps. Then ask mods for credit. Or use fongo VoIP for free number

Is it possible these 778 numbers are newer local exchanges within the 778 area code?
I had a similar problem when I signed up with my 226 calling a 519 (same City), but the issue was the one area code wasn't setup to dial the new exchange in the 519 properly.
I'm on a Province Wide plan... The moderators were required to submit a ticket to the technical team to resolve this.

Ahhh! I'm getting this error message for other 778 numbers as well now! Super annoying - these are all work colleagues and I can't call them

Thanks for your reply.
Yes, I've tried dialing a 1 in front, but no luck. My area code is the older 250. The number is correct and I can dial it from other phones.

Have you tried +1 infront of the number? @ is your prefix a 778 as well or a newer one?
Is the number you are calling correct? Can you call it from other phones? Sometimes misdiali g you get that error message,
The +1 solves the long distance charges may apply.
Worst case get a free fongo VoIP number till isssue is fixes.
