Would like to ask for more long distance minutes, to France, since I can not call my son during a crisis with any other method. No long distance calling cards etc, are available to me.
Sincerely,

Dear Mayor, as a dust who will return to dust I respond to you. Did the company green light or, check mark my phone as acceptable to use on their system? Yes, they did. I am not asking for a freebie, I am asking for what they granted me before, so that I could call my family during an urgent situation. We expect as customers to be given the straight goods. My phone was purchased in 2014 by a friend it is a ZTE222 flip phone. I like this phone. I don't need people to try to sell me and convert me to any other phone. I don't need to be called down or blamed for this issue. With all due respect. Sincerely, .....

I’m sorry you feel like none of us have offered a solution to your problem. We are customers just like you so we are unfortunately unable to grant you additional long distance minutes. Customer service are the only ones who can do that and if they are not willing to grant you free minutes like they have in the past then the only option to allow you to call France with your PM service is to purchase additional Long Distance minutes as an add-on on your account.
You can purchase more long distance minutes by logging into your account and going to the subscription and add-on’s section, then select shop add-on’s, then go to the In-Canada Add-on’s. There you can purchase 300 International Long Distance minutes which includes calling to France which would solve your issue.
However if you are unwilling to purchase any add-on’s and customer support is unwilling to give you more despite doing so in the past, then unfortunately you will have to look to other options to allow you to call France.
I hope you can contact your family soon and I wish you nothing but the best.

To JRod and others who responded to my urgent request. My phone was green check marked when I accepted to join Public Mobile. Many conversations were had with others at that time and even technical support. Through my own work on the internet I discovered that I could change some things in my settings in order to get an internet connection. But, that connection was not what I had when the phone was first activated by Fido. I could access my email, for emergency reads mostly, since with a flip you have to press too many keys to make an email. Even publisac.com does not engage the way it used to. So, one year I was offered free minutes for long distance. I used them up and asked if I could be given more due to the unsolved problem. They were granted. Therefore, a precedence was set. Even though that happened I went to purchase long distance calling cards from President's Choice. But now those have been terminated, PC optimum has not answered why yet. No cards could be purchased from Walmart nor at all the depanneurs here in Levis and St. Charles that I drove to. So out of desperation I contacted customer service to request more minutes. Francisco would not give me any more minutes and I am presently looking for other ways to communicate with my family. In approaching other agents they mentioned that the situation was "Regrettable" . That's what I think. So, I was sent an email to ask if I could check off one as a suitable solution to my problem and I can not do that. Sorry and thanks to those that cared to respond.

if you want to continue to text son whilst he's overseas...maybe time to upgrade your fliphone to something a bit more...usable. You can get an entry level smartphone with full talk/text capability for around $100...less if you can find a good used one. Included in your regular PM plan, you can send and receive texts from anywhere on planet Earth as long as you're in Canada. If you wanna call him in France from Canada, you need to get a PM Long Distance Calling add-on for $15 / 300 minutes.

I have an old flip phone. To text is very difficult.

@david59 Are you not able to text your son, since the plans all include international texting?

We are just customers here on the forum’s here so we cannot give you more international long minutes for your troubles. But it seems like Customer Service did which is great! If they gave you the international long distance minutes it does include calling to France, just make sure you are dialing 011 + 33 + City Code + Local Number.
