Hi PM customers, I just added a new account for 13 yr old daughter and ported the number over to PM. Seemed easy enough, but my question how do I install the esim on her phone with that same #? Right now I have the PM account on my main phone with Bell. I'm assuming that's the temporary # until I download the esim, correct? Can you confirm either way if I'm thinking though everything correctly?
Thanks,
Jimmy

Hey there, I just wanted to let you know that in the end I had to upload the PM app on my daughter's phone and pay for a new $5 e-sim. Good news her phone works great and customer support gave me the $5 back on my account as credit. Thanks for all your help along the way.

@Jimsterrr That might be the case with Telus but I don’t think you can transfer eSIM from one phone to another with PM , but keep us updated I’m curious to know how this will end up working out , best of luck 🤞

So I called Telus and they basically said I could transfer my esim to my daughter's phone
Cellular, add esim, transfer from nearby phone (android to iPhone)
If that doesn't work, I'll ask for a new esim from PM.

@Jimsterrr Adding as long as your bell and PM sims still. Work you might be able to just log into the newly created account for daughter in app with daughters phone @Jimsterrr and you should get credited the money back at check out for the sim be like you just. Changing phones
If you don’t get the credit back ask support for it those basically the options now

Sucks I need a new esim. It didn't overwrite my bell #. I have Bell & Public Mobile on my cell phone with 2 cell #'s. Bell becomes the primary as I have a physical sim card for that one.
What a mess. I wish I understood that better when I did that transfer. Hopefully support can help me navigate through it all.

@Jimsterrr You would need buy new eSIM and create new account , I think thou you need to contact support help you straighten it out by sounds of it you installed her account on your phone only other way would be to buy physical SIM card and sim swap the number in the account profile page
SIM SWAPPING profile tabs
and give her that sim for her phone , hopefully you didn’t overwrite your bell number with her new PM phone number
Adding @Jimsterrr does you bell sim still work ?
it’s best to use the phone if the account holder to create and activate accounts with public mobile makes it simpler and less hassle
adding again @Jimsterrr you can buy physical sim at Telus /koodo store be fastest way
Find SIM card Find a store near to you | Public Mobile

That's great! Thanks. I got a free esim and the temporary # is on my phone currently. If I install the PM app on daughters with a different email, would I need to purchase a new esim or just download the QR code from the esim I got yesterday to her phone?

hi @Jimsterrr
when you use the PM app to subscribe, the process will install the esim at the end. Make sure you download the PM app on your daughter's phone and start subscription there. Also, PM system is one email one account. So, you will need another email address to setup a new account for her

@Jimsterrr if you install the PM app on your daughter's phone you can purchase a eSIM. PM will then send you an email with a QR code to scan which will install the eSIM

@Jimsterrr The eSIM most likely already installed in the phone check the settings sim manger and ensure the eSIM is enabled / set to primary if iPhone make sure you toggle on “turn on this line “ and reset network settings couple times if needed
Toggle on “turn on this line”
If still no luck contact support to help fix for you
