Does the Roaming service work off the U.S. Mainland?

Specifically in Hawaii?

Hi @musicollector make sure you try to connect to T-Mobile.   If it does not work,  or unable to connect to T-Mobile,  just open ticket with CS Agent and request refund.  Also, you can then try to find local data sim card instead

Thanks. I just went to the link you provided and it said: "Your location has roaming coverage.". 🙂 I will take my chances and pay the additional $5 for talk. I may need to call a business back home, such as a credit card, etc., not to mention a Uber driver. For that I do not want to depend on free VoIP.

Yes, US add-ons should work in Hawaii but do not be disappointed if it does not. US service is very spotty since US is turning off 3G.

If you are going on vacation get free voip app and use free WiFi to stay in touch with whoever you have to.

HI @musicollector   Yes, Roaming works in Hawaii, too

Yes, but talk is very dodgy now. You would need to connect to T-Mobile and your phone needs to also be able to connect to 2G. Data & text should be fine.
