Existing add-on US roaming 1GB data used up within 2 days, I redeemed rewards of 3GB + unlimited talk and text and received confirmation and I can see the roaming data is 3GB now. but I still cannot make local 1800 calls. How to fix this problem? Is submitting a ticket and wait for answer for 24hr is the only option? It is not right to wait for a word of the purchased service for this long and no guarantee to get it fixed though. Any self service menu or make 2 US roaming add-on to be combined or allow more flexible additional purchase to extend the capability, such as buy extra 3 GB data on top of existing add-on?

@NotABot Since OnePlus phones are not approved by Public Mobile for VoLTE as noted by @DennyCrane it will work for text and data in the USA but not likely for voice calls since without the ability to use LTE for voice calls the phone needs to drop to 3G. The 3G networks in the USA were shut down in 2022. One thing you could try is dropping the phone to 2G in settings and try to connect to T-Mobile. T-Mobile started shutting down 2G in September but it seems there is still some around. Otherwise you can download a voip app like TextNow or Fongo since the data is working although they will give you a different phone number and I'm not sure whether 800 numbers will work.

I don't believe that phone can use VoLTE with Public Mobile, meaning you can't make phone calls in the US because they shut their 3G networks down. Text and data should work.

I have OnePlus6. I can text but still cannot make a phone call. It says disconnected. I cannot make any phone call, local or long distance to Canada or 1800.

hi @NotABot
can you make other calls?
a Local US 1800 calls is not a local call to Canada. Although you are in US and you have roaming, but the local 1800 rule still follows Canada, ie, you can only call 1800 that you can call in Canada and cannot call those 1800 US only numbers

@NotABot What phone do you have? Is it able to make other calls in the USA or is it just the 800 numbers? The data should have nothing to do with the ability to make phone calls.

@NotABot I have seen another customer recently with the same 1-800 issue in the US. Try downloading TextNow (free) get a local number where you are in the US and then use it to call the US 1-800 number.
Edit: The current purchase limitations on purchasing are a pain but as far as I know, no way around them without customer service help.
