Only using phone for texting and receiving calls - minimal use, but data is being used up…even overnight.

Are you on an older legacy plan like the $15/250mb plan? There is an issue with these type of plans since Public Mobile increased the data buffer from 5mb to 100mb to accommodate that vast majority of customers who have switched or activated one of the larger data bucket plans (ie. $35/60GB 5G plan) As the 5mb buffer was not sufficient for the faster data speeds.
Unfortunately for those who remain on the cheaper plans with very small data buckets and throttled 3G speeds the 100mb data buffer while returned to the account each night it impedes your ability to manage the usage of your mobile data. If your usage exceeds 150mb/250mb of your monthly data bucket but is below the 250mb allotment it can use add on data (if you have data add ons on your account) when you still have plan data remaining (or your mobile data can be paused?)
Monitor your usage history and enable your devices data warning/limiter settings to help tracking your data usage. If the new data buffer impedes your ability to access and use your full monthly data bucket gather up the relevant data to back up your complaint and contact customer support to compensate you for this hindrance to your mobile service.
(Perhaps a complimentary non-expiring data add on will be a sufficient solution if this is the case?)

Which phone are you using? Which plan are you on?
Public mobile reports data usage once or twice per day (usually overnight). Sum of the usage over the 12-24 hour time period.
Some messaging apps like iMessage (for iPhones) and RSC chat ( for android) will use data or Wifi for messaging.

But it is showing that I have used 75% of my data, and I haven’t

hi @Creeker
the "overnight" usage you see is not really the time data was used, it is a a total usage of the day
also, there will be a 100Mb data always show up even you have not used the data for the day, it is some buffer data or so. It does not really used up that 100Mb on your data bucket but it just always showing there
